|Progress on my puzzle after tinkering with it over the weekend. Super hard!|
I went in for my first follicle monitoring appointment with no expectations. I met a new doctor this morning since last week Dr. Jam notified me that she would be out of the office for my next two appointments. The doctor had an excellent bedside manner and walked me through everything as he did the ultrasound. I found myself quite excited and hopeful when I easily spotted my right ovary speckled with white dots as I didn't realize I would be able to recognize the follicles myself. The largest follicle measured 6mm and the doctor said I have 7-8 on each ovary, which is the size and amount that was expected for my history. This was my first ultrasound while in the red tent and it was unpleasant, but I tried not to dwell on it. On the up side I've had very minimal cramping this time around (probably due to the BCP thinning my lining). I also had a blood draw to check my estradiol and LH and my RN called this afternoon to say that my estradiol is 52, which is on the low side, but the doctor thinks that it's just a slow ramp up and that based on my follicle progress, I am to continue at the same dose of 300 IU of Follistim and 20 IU of mini-hcg. There was no mention of my LH level, so whatever. I am not going to worry about it, because I have no control over it anyhow. I will be going in for monitoring every other day and the tentative timeline for the egg retrieval is Feb 25, 26 or 27. The 25th is actually our two year wedding anniversary and I would like to come up with some way to celebrate, but I'm not sure yet. Last year we went on an awesome road trip to Oregon. Clearly this year we won't be traveling, but I still want to do something.

Right now my main source of stress is Chile. I took him out for a walk yesterday and he developed a limp and is not using his back right leg at all. We didn't see him fall or hear him yelp, so we have no idea what happened. J and I have both triple checked his paw for thorns or an injury, but don't see anything obvious. I checked it again today and also checked all the way up to his hips for swelling and again found nothing. He is still eating, wagging his tail and following me around the house, so I don't think he is in much pain. J and I discussed it and we are going to watch it for a few days to see if some rest does any good, otherwise he'll needed to be checked over by the vet. It's so sad to see him limping around. I wish he could talk and tell us what happened and how he's feeling.
